This program is VERY simple. All it does is establish a link between the modem and your computer. The next version will let you make it with your printer. (This should be interesting).
This version is free- if you purchase the upgrade. The upgrade will cost $2.98, a self addressed stamped envelope, and a disk.
1) Considering you already have your modem hooked up properly, boot MacTerm. MacTerm will give you a terminal window. At this window type "ATDT" and the number you wish to dial. Example:
ATDT 555-1212
Your modem will then dial your number. If you get a "CONNECT 2400" you connected at 2400 baud. If it is "CONNECT 9600" you connected at 9600 baud, etc. The baud rate depends upon the speed of your modem.
2) To hang up, type "+++" and hit return. Wait until the window says, "OK" and then type "ATH".
3) To quiet the modem type: "ATMO" and hit return twice. To bring sound back, type "ATM1". You can only use this when you are not connected.
